New Uzbekistan University, under the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions, begun accepting applications for the 2024/2025 academic year in January.  The entrance exam took place today, July 6th. Given that the university conducts all its educational processes in English, the entrance exams were also entirely in English.

The exams were held across 13 places of the country, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional centers, and the Uzexpocenter in Tashkent. For the 2024/2025 academic year, nearly 6,000 applicants submitted their applications. Notably, a significant portion of this year's applicants hold international certificates, with 26% possessing the SAT certificate and nearly 75% having certificates proving their proficiency in English. Additionally, 210 applicants have the international A-Level certificate.

Applicants for programs such as Chemical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Economics and Data Science, Pedagogy, and Industrial Management are taking exams in mathematics and logical thinking. The exam format consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, with a total duration of 120 minutes.

It's important to note that the exam questions are based on the curricula implemented by general secondary and secondary specialized professional educational institutions in Uzbekistan and were developed by Cambridge University Press & Assessment to include a mix of easy, medium, and difficult questions.

The selection exams are being broadcast online using video surveillance and other technical means, allowing parents and the public to view the process in real-time.

According to the university's admission policy, applicants with international certificates can be awarded the maximum score for the corresponding subject and may be exempted from the exam at their discretion. Recognized certificates include SAT, International Baccalaureate (IB), International AS, and A Level, which are accepted by many universities worldwide. Furthermore, applicants who won gold, silver, or bronze medals at international science Olympiads and successfully pass the exams will be granted a four-year scholarship.
