NewUU debate club organized the first-ever official debate session in British Parliamentary format. It was a day filled with intelligent arguments, passionate rhetoric, and lively exchanges of ideas
The audience was engaged and captivated throughout the evening, as they listened to the well-reasoned arguments of the debaters and witnessed the back-and-forth exchange of ideas.
The Debate Club has invited university’s professors who formed an esteemed panel of judges and brought their expertise and insight to the event. Their thoughtful evaluations and feedback added another layer of depth to the debate and helped to foster a spirit of healthy competition. There are two sides of the debate: Government (argues for the motion) and Opposition (argues against the motion). Four teams have competed against each other. Each side consists of 2 teams. Even though these teams are on one side, there is only 1 team as a winner.
The motion of the session was: “This House Regrets The Narrative of an American Dream”. To argue for or against, the teams had to put an effort to present their case persuasively and effectively. The first opposition team was found a winner!
We are incredibly proud of all the participants and grateful to everyone who joined us for this momentous occasion.
