    Dr. Khilola Nazirova, born in Tashkent, is a distinguished historian specializing in Central Asian studies. She holds a BA in History and Central Asian Studies (2004) and an MA in Historical Studies and Source Research (2006) from Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. In 2022, she completed her PhD with a thesis on "Zubdat al-tavārikh" by Muhammad Riza Agahi, a significant work in the historiography of the Qonghrat dynasty. Dr. Nazirova has over 15 years of experience in historical research at the Al-Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies, where she served as Chair of the Young Scholars Council (2017–2022). She co-authored and presented the TV show “Tarixiy Savol” (Historical Question) on the “Uzbekistan History” channel from 2021 to 2024.

    A dedicated researcher, Dr. Nazirova has focused on the role of women in Central Asian history, aiming to enhance educational opportunities for women and youth. In 2018, she received the title "Most Active Young Scholar of the Year," and the "Most Active Expert of the Year" award from the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan in 2023. In 2021, she was honored with the "30th Anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence" medal.

    Dr. Nazirova has published two monographs and over 50 articles and theses. She has represented Uzbekistan at numerous international conferences in Russia, the UK, the USA, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Germany. She has also participated in international research projects, including work funded by the DAAD, Gerda Henkel Foundation, and OSF Civil Society Scholar Awards. These projects included research on “The Russian Conquest of the Khanate of Khiva”, “Electronic Catalogization of Al-Beruni Institute’s Main Fund”, and “Critical Text Edition of Zubdat al-tavārikh”. She held academic internships at institutions like Moscow State University, Kazan Federal University, Indiana University, and the National Library and Archives of Iran.

    Dr. Nazirova is a member of the European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS) and serves on the advisory board of “Steppe Sisters”, an international organization supporting women in science and research. This group focuses on empowering women across various regions, including Central Asia, by promoting their contributions and participation in scientific fields. She is also an expert for the “1000 Kitob” project in Uzbekistan. Since 2019, she has been the academic secretary of the International Agahi Studies Council at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. Currently, she is a Senior Researcher at the Al-Beruni Institute, an Associate Professor at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and Vice Rector for Youth and Educational Affairs at New Uzbekistan University.
