Student Council Presidential Election Rules
Election Process Overview
- The election begins in Week 9 of the second semester each academic year.
- The authorized department announces the start of the election on the first working day, including:
- Election stages
- Requirements for candidates
- Incentives for candidates
Nomination & Selection Process
- Students must submit their application and campaign program via email to info@newuu.uz by the end of Week 11.
- By Week 12, up to 10 candidates are selected, giving preference to those with an established campaign team.
- The Rector and Vice-Rectors conduct interviews in Week 12, selecting up to 5 final candidates.
Campaign & Election
- Candidates conduct campaign activities in Weeks 13-14.
- The university provides necessary facilities for campaigning.
- Voting takes place online via Google Forms during the first two working days of Week 15.
- All students have the right to vote (faculty and staff are not allowed to participate).
- If a candidate wins by the highest number of votes, they are elected.
- In case of a tie, a runoff election is held the next day.
- If there is still a tie, the Rector makes the final decision.
Election Validity & Inauguration
- The election is valid if at least 40% of students If not, it is reorganized.
- Any attempt to manipulate votes or disrupt the election is considered a serious violation.
The inauguration ceremony takes place on the first working day of Week 16, where the elected President receives the official Student Council President badge.
