The summit brought together representatives of more than 100 universities from around the world. This prestigious platform served as an important opportunity to present the large-scale and far-reaching higher education reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to the international community, while also strengthening regional and global cooperation.
During the summit, First Vice-Rector of “New Uzbekistan” University, Bahodir Ahmedov, emphasized that Uzbekistan’s higher education system is undergoing a fundamental transformation, with strategic reforms being implemented at the state level. He also noted that the key challenge today is the effective operational implementation of these strategies.
The discussions focused on several practical approaches to building future-ready and sustainable universities, including:
???? Strengthening flexibility and adaptive governance to respond effectively to political and institutional changes in higher education;
???? Ensuring alignment between internal and external governance systems, while coordinating university strategies with supervisory boards and external governing bodies;
???? Enhancing financial and institutional sustainability through the development of modern approaches such as transnational education (TNE), online education, and micro-credentials.
Through its active participation on the international stage, “New Uzbekistan” University continues to contribute to the integration of Uzbekistan’s higher education system into the global academic community and the introduction of modern governance practices.
