New Uzbekistan University proudly hosted the award ceremony for the Yandex Uzbekistan Coding and Math Contest 2025. This prestigious competition, organized by Yandex Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Yandex School of Data Analysis, brought together university students and IT professionals from across the country to showcase their skills in programming and mathematics.
This year, the contest attracted over 2,000 young participants from various regions of Uzbekistan, reflecting the growing interest in digital skills and analytical thinking among the country’s youth.
The competition featured two rigorous online stages: a programming challenge on April 19 and a mathematics challenge on April 20. Participants tackled complex problems designed by world-class experts, including Andrey Stankevich, the most decorated coach in the history of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), and Alexey Tolstikov, director of the Yandex School of Data Analysis.
Out of the thousands of participants, the top 100 were invited to the award ceremony held at New Uzbekistan University. The top eight performers received monetary prizes from a total prize fund of 65 million UZS. Additionally, participants ranked 9th to 20th were awarded Yandex Station Lite devices and a one-year Yandex Plus subscription. Those ranked 21st to 30th received a one-year Yandex Plus subscription, while participants ranked 31st to 100th were granted a six-month subscription. All other participants were rewarded with a three-month Yandex Plus subscription.
The event underscored New Uzbekistan University's commitment to fostering excellence in STEM education and its role in nurturing the next generation of tech leaders in Uzbekistan.
