On April 15, 2025, New Uzbekistan University had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), led by President Dr. Kunwoo Lee. The first high level visit aimed to establish a cooperation framework and explore various opportunities between our institutions. The highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), paving the way for joint research projects, student exchange programs, and collaborative academic initiatives!

Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) is a state research-oriented university located in Daegu, South Korea. Established in 2005, DGIST focuses on advanced science and technology education and research. DGIST offers full scholarships to various undergraduate and graduate programs across multiple fields, including robotics, information and communication technology, energy science, and biotechnology. With state-of-the-art facilities and a strong emphasis on research, DGIST has established itself as a leading institution in South Korea, attracting both domestic and international students and researchers.

A guided tour of NewUU campus, where the delegation was presented with computer labs, library and teaching environment was followed by the transfer to the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi IT-School.

We look forward to a future filled with shared knowledge and innovation provided the potential this partnership holds for both NewUU and DGIST. A big thank you to all participants for making this visit a success!
