On April 19, students and faculty members of New Uzbekistan University took part in an industrial excursion to Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (Almalyk MMC JSC) — one of Uzbekistan’s leading industrial giants. The visit was organized as part of a collaboration agreement signed earlier this year between New Uzbekistan University and Almalyk MMC JSC, aimed at fostering academic-industry partnerships.

Participants visited the “Yoshlik-1” site, where they observed active development works, and later toured the Technological Transport Department, exploring repair processes, digitization efforts, and employee training systems.

In the afternoon, a seminar was held for students of Tashkent State Technical University’s Almalyk Branch, alongside specialists from Almalyk MMC JSC.

At the seminar:
- Professor Bugra Chashkurlu from New Uzbekistan University delivered a lecture on the benefits and industrial applications of artificial intelligence.
- Aziz Rozikulov, Acting Director of the Digitalization Department at Almalyk MMC JSC, shared insights on the company’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

The final destination was the Third Copper Beneficiation Plant, which boasts an impressive annual ore processing capacity of 60 million tons. Specialists offered detailed explanations of the plant’s production capacity and cutting-edge technologies.

One of the most exciting parts of the visit was a tour of the Engineering School, modeled after Germany’s “Aurubis” Training Center and equipped with modern teaching technologies. Students were inspired by the educational environment and proposed launching tailored training programs for New Uzbekistan University learners within the facility.

This excursion provided students not only with valuable industrial insights but also strengthened the connection between academic learning and real-world application — a cornerstone of New Uzbekistan University's mission.
