Today, New Uzbekistan University hosted the first day of the international scientific conference organized within the framework of the “14th Silk Road Meeting” and the 2nd meeting of the “Silk Road Astronomy Research & Education Alliance.” The conference will continue from May 18 to 22.

The first day’s program began with welcoming remarks and a panel session featuring Rainer Spurzem, representative of Heidelberg University and NAOC/CAS, along with leading scientists, academics, and researchers from Uzbekistan and abroad.

Throughout the day, participants attended plenary and scientific lectures covering topics such as gravitational waves and black holes, theoretical physics, mathematics, hydrodynamics, star clusters, and stellar formation.

In addition, parallel sessions were organized at the end of the day, where participants exchanged views on current topics in modern astronomy, astrophysics, and theoretical physics.

The conference serves as an important platform for presenting scientific findings, strengthening international collaboration, and enhancing the role of New Uzbekistan University as a center for global scientific dialogue in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
