Students of New Uzbekistan University have proudly represented our country on the international stage, winning an honorable 4th place at the prestigious TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition in Istanbul.
Their project, titled “Cottony”, is an autonomous agricultural robot powered by solar energy and guided by artificial intelligence. Designed specifically for cotton fields, the robot applies fertilizer and removes weeds with high precision, ensuring maximum efficiency without harming the plants. This innovative solution demonstrates how technology can transform agriculture, making it more sustainable and effective.
TEKNOFEST, Türkiye’s largest aerospace, technology, and innovation festival, is recognized as one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. Organized by the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) in partnership with leading institutions, the festival attracts millions of participants each year. In 2025, more than 1.1 million participants took part in the competitions, with over 13,000 teams advancing to the finals across dozens of categories ranging from robotics and AI to aerospace and green technologies.
Competing against some of the brightest young innovators from around the globe, NewUU’s student team stood out with their creative approach to agricultural robotics. Their success highlights the strong foundation in engineering, computing, and innovation provided at New Uzbekistan University and demonstrates the potential of Uzbek youth to solve real-world problems through advanced technologies.
This remarkable achievement not only brings pride to our university but also contributes to raising the international profile of Uzbekistan’s higher education and innovation ecosystem.
We warmly congratulate our young inventors on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to seeing their continued success as they take “Cottony” to the next stage of development.
