The Institute of Ion-Plasma and Laser Technologies named after U.A. Arifov is a scientific institution of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, founded in 1963. It specializes in conducting research in the field of electronics, photonics, molecular physics and thermal physics, as well as in the development and implementation of ion-plasma and laser technologies. The institute studies processes on the surface of solids, including ionization and emission, and develops methods of ion-beam processing to change the properties of surfaces. In addition, the institute is actively working on the creation of solar furnaces, photoconverters and solar concentrators for the efficient use of solar energy.
