Luciana Rezzolla Delivers Captivating Open Lecture on Black Holes

As part of the Central Asia Universities Forum, New Uzbekistan University proudly hosted a renowned scientist, Luciana Rezzolla, at Samarkand State University for an enlightening open lecture today.

The focus of the lecture was on black holes, a topic that continues to captivate the imagination of young minds. During her presentation, Professor Rezzolla shared insights into the complex nature of black holes, explaining that the scientific hypothesis portrayed in the film “Interstellar”—where one experiences 1.5 seconds in a black hole as equivalent to an entire day on Earth—has a basis in reality.

The event was inaugurated by academician Bobomurot Ahmedov, who emphasized the importance of engaging students with cutting-edge scientific knowledge. Following the lecture, attendees had the unique opportunity to ask questions, enabling a rich dialogue between the students and the esteemed scientist.

This event not only highlighted the advancements in astrophysics but also inspired students to delve deeper into the mysteries of the universe. New Uzbekistan University remains committed to fostering a culture of inquiry and innovation, and events like this play a crucial role in encouraging the next generation of scientists.
