The courses are delivered in a block format, where each block includes multiple courses and spans 8-9 weeks, including an assessment week. Each course covers 32 direct contact hours (4 hours per week), delivered through lectures, seminars, tutorials, or laboratory classes. Weekly timetabled hours may vary depending on the course schedule and format. Teaching is delivered entirely in person on campus through lectures, seminars, tutorials, and other scheduled activities. In later semesters, timetabled sessions may decrease as the focus shifts toward independent learning, particularly for research projects and thesis work.
In addition to timetabled contact hours, students are expected to engage in independent learning and assessment activities. This typically involves 15 to 16 hours per week and includes tasks such as individual research, reading journal articles and books, working on projects, preparing coursework assignments and presentations, and revising for exams. Independent learning is a critical component of the program, intended to improve understanding and develop critical analytical and research skills.
