Position Overview

New Uzbekistan University is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor / Associate Professor to join the Department of Medicine.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of the MD programme through high-quality teaching, student supervision, research, curriculum development, assessment, and academic service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions, and small-group learning activities within the MD programme.
  • Prepare, develop, and update teaching materials, learning activities, assessments, and course documentation.
  • Provide academic advising, mentoring, supervision, and formative feedback to students.
  • Participate in assessment design, examinations, marking, moderation, and feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, review, mapping, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Conduct and develop an active programme of research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications, conferences, grants, and collaborative research projects.
  • Support interdisciplinary and team-based teaching across basic, biomedical, and clinical disciplines.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, quality assurance, accreditation, and other academic activities.
  • Contribute to the professional and academic development of junior academic staff and students.
  • Engage in continuing professional and academic development.
  • Undertake other reasonable academic duties assigned by the relevant University authority.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent medical degree and/or relevant doctoral or advanced academic qualification, as appropriate to the discipline.
  • A strong academic record and recognized expertise in the relevant field.
  • Relevant university teaching experience or demonstrable teaching capability.
  • Evidence of research activity and scholarly publications, or strong potential for research and publication.
  • Experience in assessment, curriculum development, and student supervision is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of the relevant subject area and contemporary teaching methods.
