JSC Ammophos-Maxam is one of the largest enterprises in Uzbekistan, specializing in the production of complex nitrogen-phosphorus mineral fertilizers. The plant was commissioned in December 1969 and is located in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent region. The enterprise occupies an area of 194.5 hectares and includes two ammophos production workshops, two extraction phosphoric acid workshops, sulfuric acid production and other auxiliary units. Main products: Ammophos, Ammonium sulfate phosphate, Suprefos, Sulfuric acid, Ammonium feed phosphate.
In February 2009, 49% of the company's shares were acquired by the Spanish corporation Maxam Corp, S.A.U. JSC Ammofos-Maxam is part of the joint-stock company Uzkimyosanoat and actively cooperates with research institutes of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
