This job description defines the job responsibilities of the Head of the
Department of Cooperation with Industry of the “New Uzbekistan” University. The
following are the main responsibilities of the Head of the Department of Cooperation
with Industry:
– Organizing the implementation of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
decrees, resolutions and orders of the President, resolutions of the Chambers of the
Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and personnel
training, resolutions of the University Council and orders of the Rector of the
University;
– Direct general management of the department, coordination of the activities of
the department's employees and control over the implementation of the tasks
assigned to the department;
– Implementation and control of relevant work to improve the business reputation
of the university;
– Honest and conscientious performance of their work duties, compliance with
labor and executive discipline;
– To give relevant instructions to the department employees within the scope of
their authority in accordance with current legislation and to monitor their
implementation;
– To monitor the compliance of the department employees with internal
discipline;
– To involve employees of the structural divisions of the university in
coordination with the university management to perform the tasks assigned to the
department, as well as to submit proposals to the management for the involvement of
specialists and qualified experts from other organizations;
– To represent the university on issues related to the department's competence in
state bodies, at events of republican and international importance, as instructed by the
university management;
– To hold and participate in conferences, seminars, symposiums and events
related to academic issues organized by the university and other organizations within
the scope of their authority, as well as to involve university students in them;
– To perform the duties of the position in a high-quality and complete manner;– To improve and develop the activities of the department;
– To provide explanations on issues within the competence of the department;
– Participate on behalf of the department in regular meetings for university
department heads;
– Participate in meetings with the Rector and Vice-Rector for Innovation and
Research as required;
– Make appropriate changes to the job descriptions of the Department’s staff as
needed within the scope of their authority;
– Communicate the Department’s achievements, goals, and priorities to internal
and external stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, funding agencies, and
the general public;
– Provide an exemplary work environment for department staff and take steps to
create professional development opportunities for team members;
– Identify potential industry partners and develop relationships with businesses,
corporations, startups, and other organizations that align with the university’s
research, education, and innovation goals;
– Negotiate and develop agreements, contracts, and memorandums of
understanding (MOUs) between the university and industry partners, preparing terms
of cooperation, intellectual property rights, funding procedures, and other relevant
issues;
– Facilitate the transfer of technology, knowledge, and intellectual property from
the university to industry partners through licensing agreements, startup incubation
programs, and other commercialization mechanisms;
– Provide support and resources to faculty, students, and alumni interested in
entrepreneurship and other industrial ventures, including assistance in developing
their businesses;
– Collaborate with entrepreneurs on behalf of the university to develop internship
programs that provide students with real-world experience and to seek partnership
opportunities;
– Inform university faculty, students, and staff about the benefits of industry
collaboration for research and educational development;

– Monitor the progress and impact of collaborative projects in the field;
– Be aware of trends, challenges, and opportunities in relevant industries and
sectors and advise university leadership on strategic priorities and potential areas of
collaboration;
– Adhere to the rules and standards of occupational health and safety, industrial
sanitation, and fire safety;
– Adhere to the department’s charter and this job description;
– Ensure the fulfillment of the tasks and functions assigned to the department;– Organize production and management within the scope of their authority,
comply with the fundamentals of labor legislation, and the rules of internal labor
procedures;
– Know the production and organizational structure of the university;
– Knowledge of the basics of business administration;
– Basics of working on a personal computer and skills in using modern ICT tools;
– Compliance with the procedure for working with information whose access is
restricted in accordance with the legislation;
– Establish cooperation with relevant departments and departments on
industry-related issues;
– Obtaining information, documents and materials necessary for the development
of draft legal and regulatory documents in the industry in accordance with the
established procedure;
– Participation in seminars, meetings and conferences organized in their field;
– Effective use of working time;
– Carrying out other obligations in accordance with the distribution of duties;
– Ensuring compliance with and compliance with the requirements of the
University Charter, internal regulations, rules of etiquette, and dress code.
